FWQ: Nissan MysticXperience 2010 Results

In ski, Jeremie Heitz (SUI), Anna Kankevich (RUS) and in snowboard, Francesco Fersuoch (ITA), Kaisa Harkonen (FIN) are the winners of the fourth edition of Nissan MysticXperience, Monterosa Ski, Italy.

After a week of very variable weather when new snow fall, wind and sun change the snow conditions of the faces, sunshine warmed up the riders at the top of St. Anna, at Gressoney, in the Monterosa Ski Area.

More than 120 riders from 20 Countries competed in the qualification round on Saturday. The level was impressive and riders and spectators enjoyed awesome lines. Hard job for the judges, headed by Cyril Neri, form the Freeride World Tour, to decide the best 40 riders who won a place in the finals.

On Sunday morning, all riders arrived in front of the face of Sant Anna. Even many riders who were not qualified joined the atmosphere of Monterosa to cheer for their friends. After a long climb riders arrived at the top. The snow was very variable and crusty on left side; the face was long and full of different lines. The level was higher than the day before.

Snowboarders started first. The Italian Francesco Fersuoch did an impressive line on the most steep section, smooth and clean; he was the unanimous winner for the judges. Berny Stoll (Ger) and Cathomas Stefan (SUI) arrived second and third respectively.

Snowboard women started with great motivation and style. The best was Kaisa Harkonen (FIN), while Vivian Aasen (NOR) and Mikaela Hollsten (FIN), arrived second and third respectively.

Anna Khankevich (RUS) won ski Woman Category with a great line, fast and always in control. Hanna Fisher (AUS) and Anne May Slinnig (NOR) arrived second and third.

The amazing show by the men skiers took place at the end but spectators were astonished in front of the incredible lines of Jeremie Heitz (SUI) who chose a new line, steep and technical with a 15 m drop at the end. The judges awarded him with the first place. A very impressive second place was of Joonas Karhumaa (FIN) who started aggressive from the first meters in telemark. Third place was for Richard Amacker (SUI).

Nissan MysticXperience 2010 ends with new great experience for all riders and spectators on the wonderful mountain of Monterosa.
