Freeride Elite United for the Freeride World Tour
A unique mix of the world’s foremost freeride skiers and snowboarders have all confirmed their participation in the Freeride World Tour 2010, with the prize purse of no less than $206 200. The athletes will see a new event on the 2010 Tour calendar, the Nissan Freeride de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, with scheduled competition day on January 30. More

Freeride World Tour SEASON 3
The Freeride World Tour announces its third season. The world's best skiers and snowboarders will yet again be battling it out in four of the world's most prestigious ski resorts. It will all start on the Russian slopes of Sochi in January followed closely by the next stage in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France. The Tour will then journey to the United States to “ride” the mythical Tram Face, that has not yet officially been cleared for a freeriding competition. Finally, those riders with the top ratings will compete in the Tour's grand final in Verbier during the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch which celebrates its 15th year. So long Shane...
Shane McConkey, a close friend of the Freeride World Tour, forerunner and judge at the Nissan Tram Face Squaw Valley event this season, died during a ski BASE jump yesterday March 26, 2009, in the Italian Dolomites. The freeride community will never forget Shane. Pioneer in extreme skiing and in outdoor sports in general, Shane was an exceptional human being, super talented and so down to earth and friendly at the same time. He has and will remain an inspiration to many. A legend officially becomes a legend. Our thoughts to Sherry, Ayla and family. More

Final results: Nissan Tram Face - Squaw Valley USA The mythical Tram Face left untouched for now
The Nissan Tram Face in Squaw Valley USA, second stage of the Freeride World Tour, ends with the cancellation of the second day. The organizers were obliged to regretfully cancel the much awaited second day focusing on the quality of the competition and riders’ security. The mythical Tram Face is still to be conquered. After a fantastic first day of competition on the Silverado Face (Friday, February 27th), a winter storm hit the California mountains thus the second day of competition of the Tram Face cannot take place. After having admired the slopes and thinking about possible lines, the Freeride World Tour riders will leave the United States for Europe for the third stage and a new challenge: the Nissan Freeride de Tignes that will take place Monday, March 9th. Weather postpones Nissan Tram Face
For the moment, the weather will not permit the riders to take on the Tram Face in Squaw Valley USA. So, they are resting up and enjoying the area. More information will be provided tomorrow concerning the competition. They can compete through Thursday, March 5th before heading to the next stage in Tignes, France. More

Nissan Tram Face- Squaw Valley USA: Silverado hosts the first part of the show
The first stage of the Nissan Tram Face Squaw Valley USA took place today on the impressive Silverado face with excellent conditions. The 53 riders qualified for the only North American stage of the Freeride World Tour amazed the crowd under the California sun. Before launching the second day of competition on the mythical Tram Face at the beginning of the week, the athletes and organizers are anxiously awaiting the snowfall predicted this weekend: everything will then be perfect to mark a page in the history of freeride.
